A week off work with a long ‘to do list’ to get through. Most jobs on the list are related to preparing for my very first solo exhibition, which I still can’t believe is happening. I was flabbergasted to find out that I was one of just 6 artists selected from the 2017 Annual Open exhibition at Haworth Art Gallery in Accrington to hold a solo exhibition on the Bell Corridor the following year.
It has been a very busy year building up a portfolio of work for the exhibition but here we are now, just a month before it is due to be hung. I don’t plan on creating anything else new before the end of August. I will be concentrating on mounting, framing and labelling the work that has been done, as well as updating this website and my Instagram page.
My work isn’t done to impress anyone, it is a personal expression of a place, an object or a memory at this moment in time. It will no doubt develop over time and I always have lots of ideas for new projects and techniques. I will post images of new work on this website and social media.
'The Common Thread' exhibition begins on 29th August and is on until 31st October 2018 at Haworth Art Gallery, Accrington.
